Science Teachers, Zombie Apocalypse, and Halloween

Once students see the October calendar, their thoughts turn to Halloween. It becomes the main topic of conversation in class. In my Kindergarten class, I will ask a question, then students eagerly raise their hands with an answer. I select a student to answer the question, and all he says is, "My mom bought me a costume for Halloween." Then the rest of the class is off and thinking about trick or treating, not the Math concept that I'm teaching.

Teachers are some of the most brave people on the planet! Some can even survive a Zombie Apocalypse
